How to create a personal wellbeing toolkit

Life doesn’t always go to plan, and during stressful or demanding times it can feel harder to cope, especially if your wellbeing battery is already running low. This challenge helps you build your own personal wellbeing toolkit by identifying simple strategies, habits, and supports that help you feel more balanced, energised, and resilient.

Challenge objective

Identify practical wellbeing strategies that support your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing

Duration

We recommend reflecting on this over the next 1-4 weeks.

Challenge overview

This challenge is about building self-awareness first, then identifying realistic wellbeing habits that work for you.

During this challenge, you’ll reflect on different areas of wellbeing including stress, sleep, movement, eating well, emotions, and social connection. You’ll identify what helps you feel your best, what gets in the way, and practical strategies you can use to support yourself more consistently.

The editable toolkit PDF is designed to help you reflect on your current wellbeing habits, identify what supports you most, and build practical strategies you can use during both everyday life and more challenging periods.

Your personal wellbeing toolkit does not need to be perfect or complicated. The goal is to build awareness and create a collection of practical strategies you can turn to during both everyday life and more challenging times.

Here’s a message from our Director, Tim, on the challenge:

How to participate:

  1. Watch the video introduction explaining how to use the personal wellbeing toolkit
  2. Complete the Personal Wellbeing Toolkit worksheet at your own pace
  3. Reflect on each area of wellbeing, taking time to consider how you’re currently feeling and what’s working well for you
  4. Identify what helps and what gets in the way. Think about the situations, habits and challenges that positively or negatively affect your wellbeing
  5. Explore practical strategies. Consider tools, habits or activities that have helped you in the past, as well as new approaches you’d like to try
  6. Choose what works for you. Focus on simple, realistic actions that suit your lifestyle, circumstances and current wellbeing needs
  7. Build your toolkit over time. Revisit it throughout the next few weeks, adding new ideas and strategies as you discover what works
  8. Keep your toolkit handy. Return to it whenever you need a little extra support, particularly during challenging times or as your circumstances change
